Greg Robinson
Greg Robinson, Director

Greg Robinson has worked in the securities industry for more than 20 years. He is a Director of Zomojo, a financial technology and trading company, having helped found the business in 2005. Since 2007 he has been active within the company with administrative and business development responsibilities together with an active interest in the firm's internal R&D activities.
The early part of Greg's career was spent in derivatives, arbitrage, technology, or as a Quant Analyst with a special interest in market microstructure. He started his career in finance as an options dealer with A.C. Goode & Co. before moving to BBY Ltd as part of it's establishment. He was an Executive Director of BBY and at various times responsible for Melbourne equities dealing, Options dealing, Quantitative research (internal and external), Technology and Trading.
Greg has also had a long association with innovative NY-listed broker ITG, from first meeting in 1987, to the licensing of POSIT for the Australian market in 1994, and the subsequent establishment of ITG's first non-US business. By the time he left ITG in 2007 he was CEO of the Asia Pacific businesses (Australia, Hong Kong, Japan) and a member of the Management Committee. ITG were early leaders in the fields of alternative trading, dark liquidity, algorithmic trading, transaction cost analysis, and products related to the pursuit of “best execution”. In this context Greg has worked quite closely with many of the world's largest funds management organizations and had the opportunity to advise them in their pursuit of best practices in the area of minimizing the implementation shortfall between portfolio ideas and actual outcomes.
Together with his colleagues at Zomojo he also has experience in the efficient after-tax management of equity portfolios.
Greg holds PhD and BSc(Hons) degrees in Physics from the University of Melbourne. He has also studied Business Administration at Melbourne, has a Graduate Diploma of Finance (F.Fin), and is a Master Stockbroker member of the SDIA, having become a Member of the Australian Stock Exchange more than ten years ago.
